I'm officially a Sun Devil. That's right, sweet chicas; I'm going back to school on 1-19-10. Can you even believe it?
I'm nervous. Nervous like when I had my first real kiss or when I had to sing the National Anthem at my high school's track meet. Nervous like the first time I got pulled over for speeding. "My dad is going to K-I-L-L me!" I cried to the cop. My dad didn't kill me. I think it was because my eyes were swelled-shut from blubbering all the way home.
Tonight, as I loaded the dishwasher, I turned to mi Amor and said, tears starting to brim, "Do you think I can do it? Get my master's degree? Be real with me. Seriously. I don't want to fail, and then waste all our money in the process."
You know what he said? He said, "There's no doubt in my mind that you can do it."
I'm taking his word for it; and he'd better be right.
Now the question I have for you right now is: Do you think I should show my ASU Sun Devil spirit by redecorating our bedroom like the above posted picture. Too extreme?
Way to go! You can do it!! I think it is so amazing that you are getting your Masters. Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteBrandee, but what about the bedspread? You're so sweet and encouraging. I just love ya!
ReplyDeleteGood for you Katy! You will be the best sun devil! I'm so excited that your taking the leap back into school, you'll do awesome! As for the decorating, I have some sun devil fabic left from the quilt I made for Shayne.. maybe I'll make you a scarf so you can show your pride..unless Bryce is into the whole co-ed look :) Love ya... ooooo I'd better get over to get my hair done soon so I don't get bumped by some big paper so something!!!
ReplyDeleteMom, you are TRULY one of the smartest people I know! You CAN do it....remember..."It is not your aptitude but your attitude that determines your altitude!"
ReplyDeleteI love you and know you can do it!
i think thats just the greatest. i would LOVE to do something like that though im sure it would make me feel very nervous too. im always trying to get chad to go there but he keeps resisting. it say if your walls are gold then go for the bedspread!
ReplyDeleteSoooo Awesome!! Oh, I mean going to school, not the room re-do. I would keep the current bedrrom decor and maybe get a school shirt :) Congrats and have fun at school!
ReplyDeleteOk, chicas! I'm going with Dacia's suggestion. A shirt should do the trick, but I still need the scarf, Mendy.
ReplyDeleteAll it needs is some gold bling and you could totally work that room! Good luck!
ReplyDeleteA master's degree in what??? Inquiring minds want to know.
ReplyDeleteSo cool that you are going back to school! What are you getting your masters in? You will do amazing!!!!
ReplyDelete'm doing ASU's MAC program. When I'm through, I'll have a Master's of Education and a teaching certificate, English teaching. I'm only taking two classes right now. Originally I was taking four and then Bryce said, "You'd better slow down." He's so right. I get so excited about starting new things. Then I burnout and begin dreading every minute of whatever I've started. I start next Mon. and I cant wait:)
ReplyDeleteKaty - you never cease to amaze me. Way to go -I am so proud of you!
ReplyDeleteHurrah for English teachers?
ReplyDeleteDid you remove that last post or is there something wrong with my computer?
You CAN do this!!! Bloggers have your back!!
ReplyDeleteKaty! You are so awesome! You never cease to amaze! Why would there be any question about " if you can do it!" Of course you can! I personally would go for the shirt! Leave the bedroom alone. I have even seen Sun Devil "pink" shirts at Dillards one day! You have your options you know!
ReplyDeleteAre you in Arizona? I thought you were in Utah... when are you gonna get me your address or email? EMAIL ME por favor... trostlund@gmail.com.
ReplyDeleteMy husband's family live in Tempe... his mom taught health and wellness at ASU for years. I love that place... it was where I was going to get my archaeology degree...but went to BYU instead (cheaper). I still have my ASU sweatshirt though and I love it... GO ASU and GO KATIE!
